THE INAUGURAL EVENT
The inaugural SHERŌS RALLY will be an invitational event to women from across the globe. The Year 1 mission is to publicize and launch a successful "beta" of the rally as the world emerges from the COVID-19 crisis. The rally will consist of top notch competitors, influential staff and media, and a film team that will document and distribute imagery and video. The first event will be a showcase of the Emirates and rally to build and promote the excitement. Year 2 will be opened up for general registration.
COMPETITION FORMAT
SHERŌS RALLY uses the unique and challenging Rebelle Format. Known as a "triathlon" of rally using different types of challenges. These challenges not only demand smart strategy, they give organizers options to ensure competitors stay on course, and speed is controlled. Competitors are not allowed the use of GPS, cell phones or Internet connected devices for the entire duration.
MAP & COMPASS CHALLENGES:
Using on a map and compass, competitors plot coordinates on traditional paper maps. Checkpoints are rated as green, blue or black diamond in navigation difficulty. All CPs must be collected in order. Green CPs are mandatory. Blue and Black diamond CPs are not mandatory but create an excellent challenge and define the winners.
ENDURO CHALLENGES:
Using a traditional rally roadbook, competitors must stay "on time" or "on route." On time is based on average speed and on route challenges competitors must follow the route and not deviate, collecting points for accuracy. Enduro Challenges start and end at Green Checkpoints.
